How Snipl works
- 1
Your file stays in your browser
We read your CSV, PDF or ZIP on your device. Only the transaction table is used. Headers, addresses and account details are dropped. Screenshots and scans of statements are read on your device too, and the images are never uploaded.
- 2
Personal details are removed
Emails, phone numbers, postal codes, street addresses, account and card numbers are removed or masked, and transfers between people are left out. We cannot always detect every personal detail.
- 3
Only cleaned lines are sent
Services we already know are recognized on your device. When you press the button, only the cleaned lines we cannot identify ourselves are sent to the AI for an accurate analysis. Nothing is sent before that.
- 4
AI finds the subscriptions
The cleaned lines are analyzed to find recurring charges. You confirm or fix each result before anything is saved.

About the AI
Snipl recognizes popular services on your device, so those lines never need the AI. The AI is only used for the lines Snipl cannot identify by itself: the cleaned lines of services we do not already know are sent to Anthropic (the Claude API) when you press the button, so they can be analyzed accurately. Under Anthropic's published policy, which we checked on October 19, 2026, they may keep that data for up to 30 days. Snipl does not store or log those lines. We save only the subscriptions you confirm.
